Jamaica qualified for the woman’s world cup for the first time in 2019 but lost all matches through the tournament from the group stages. Sweden won 1-0 against Canada.

The Women’s World Cup is going on today. These matches contain countries from: Africa, Asia, North and Central America , Caribbean , South America , Oceania  and Europe, some have never played before.

Most player are well behaved but the behaviour of the Cameroon players was unacceptable in their most recent game. They were arguing and spitting when a goal was disallowed for offside, they then got upset as a result of this, and refused to continue.

Dirty Water Dirty Water

Dirty Water

Aug 21, 2019 St Joseph's Newsround No Comments

Half a million children die a year as they have no fresh water. This situation is heart breaking as not only they have to get dirty water they also have to walk miles to get it . The government of this country and other countries need to do more to help these people.

Water is also important as we need it for growing plants and food , if there is no fresh water the plants will look like this. There will be no food and people will die. People will need water for their pets and wild animals so they don`t get ill. In hot countries, animals don’t always have enough to drink.

You can see the difference between cows that have water to drink and those that don’t.

Water aid  provides clean water to people who can`t afford it. They do this to help poor communities  establish sustainable water supplies. They do it in hot counties where fresh water is scarce.

Water aid works closely with its partners in local communities and we can help by donating money to the this charity so young and old can have clean accessible water and  good hygiene.

Hi, my name is Zena today me and my group: Daniela, Connah, Ronan and Samuel are going to be talking about SATs! In this topic, we will be discussing what SATs are all about and how children cope with it.

When children get to year 2 and year 6,all the children in the UK have to do their SATs. This stands for Standard Assessment Tests.

What are SATs? What are SATs?

What are SATs?

Aug 21, 2019 St Joseph's Newsround No Comments

SATs are very important tests to see how much you have developed through out primary school. They also help you to develop life skills for jobs and  tricky situations. Children all over the UK take SATs in years 2 and 6( ages 6-7 and 10-11). The main tests in SATs are English, maths, grammar and reading.

SATs are controversial issue school education. The Green Party, is planning to get rid of all SATs and the Labour party, run by Jeremy Corbyn, agrees with this idea.

  • What happens during the time of SATs?
  • When you are taking your SATs test , have different amounts of time to complete different papers.. Reading takes 45mins and arithmetic takes 30mins.
  • SATs are good as they are a chance for teachers to see how much the child has developed over the course of primary school.
  • If you need a break,  tell your instructor.( teacher)
  •  Your teacher will tell everyone to not talk during the time limit of the test paper or otherwise your teacher might think you’re cheating.
  •  Don’t worry, just don’t talk and really concentrate.
